What is a CVV2 security code?
We ask for your credit card’s CVV2 security code for all phone and Internet transactions. All VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express cards made in America have a CVV2 number. The CVV2 number is the last three digits found at the end of the signature line on the BACK of VISA, MasterCard, and Discover cards. It is the four digit number on the FRONT of the American Express card. Since a CVV2 number is listed on your credit card, but is not stored anywhere or printed on a credit card receipt, the only way to know the correct CVV2 number for your credit card is to physically have possession of the card itself. This is an added security measure intended to protect consumers using their card for phone and mail order transactions.
